Joyce A. Glowacki Obituary (1937

Rutland: Joyce A. Glowacki, 87, formerly of Rutland, passed away Saturday March 8, 2025, at 8:00 pm at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held Thursday March 13, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk. A memorial mass will follow at 11:00 am. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Minonk. Memorials may be directed to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Toluca is in charge of arrangements. Joyce was born April 27, 1937, in Streator, IL to Everett R. and Ruth Ardell (Boshell) Ekstrom. She married John Glowacki on July 16, 1955, in Minonk, IL. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2013. She later married Thomas Gensler. Surviving are her children, Kevin (Joan) Glowacki, and Mark Glowacki, both of Minonk, Kathy (Kentin) Knoblauch, of Low Point, and Michael Glowacki, of Bloomington, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Her parents, one brother, Keith Ekstrom, one sister, Carol Morley, and her daughter-in-law, Susan Glowacki, preceded her in death. Joyce was a member of St. Ann’s Church, Toluca. She was a homemaker and a seamstress, doing sewing for customers. Joyce and her husband, John, a member of the military, travelled to many different places and military bases.
