Joseph Lewis Becker Obituary (1943 - 2023)

Joseph Lewis Becker, 80 of Modesto passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 29, 1943 in rural Hettick, the son of Joseph A. and Nellie M. (Clothier) Becker. He married Laura Mae Wyatt and she survives his passing. Though he loved farming and working on machinery, his greatest love was his family. In addition to his wife, Laura Mae, he is survived by daughters Kim (Dwayne) Blisset of Chatham and Lisa Dyer of Pawnee; his son Ryan (Melissa) Becker of Modesto; 5 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Lucy Coffey of Hettick, Carolyn Releford of Hettick and Joyce Hudgins of Chesterfield along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Bill Becker and brothers Arthur, Bob and Paul. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 5, 2024 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden with Pastor Amy Bickel officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Modesto. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for his family.
