Joseph Paul Barr, 55, of Eldon, MO passed away on Thursday October 7, 2021. He was pronounced dead at 5:01 PM at Saint Louis University Hospital where he had been taken after an accident that was as uncommon as the way he lived his life.\r\n\r\nGraveside services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in Rosamond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, Illinois. Joseph will be laid to rest with his parents Joseph S. and Priscilla, who preceded him in death.\r\n\r\nJoseph was born July 8, 1966 in Springfield, IL, the son of Joseph S. Barr and Priscilla M. (Evans and later Duez) Barr of Macon, IL. He married Melissa M. (DeFrates) Northcutt on September 1, 2020.\r\n\r\nJoseph is survived by his wife Melissa, daughter Brianna Fessler, granddaughter Lexcia, son Dane, step-children Christina, Stephen, Miste', Desire', 8 step-grandchildren, and brother Brandon.\r\n\r\nJoseph graduated, lettering in sports from Macon High School class of 1984. He enjoyed his classic '57 Chevy, the Bluesmobile that was a favorite in local parades and a spooked out hearse. Over the years Joseph owned and operated several tattoo shops across Illinois including Tattoo U, Lucky Mothers, Darkside, and HelOn Heelz. He attended the Ben and Jerry's school of ice cream where he learned the art of creating ice cream. He and his lifetime friend and then wife, Renee Fessler owned and operated Lickety Splits in Jacksonville, IL. He was very proud of himself for receiving an associates degree in culinary arts from Taylorville Community College and getting his culinary license.
