John “Kevin” Morefield August 28, 1957 – May 27, 2025
John “Kevin” Morefield of Arrowsmith passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on May 27th, 2025, at Carle Bromen Hospital surrounded by loving family.
Kevin was born on August 28th, 1957. He was born to Bob Morefield and Doris Builta. He married Jeri Polson, the love of his life, on March 12th, 1989.
Survivors include his four children: Tim Morefield, Mandy (Mark) Streenz, Justin (Kim) Morefield, and Jeff Morefield, as well as bonus children Tyler Morefield and Sarah Bertram. His pride and joys were his grandchildren, Raeghan Morefield; Grace, Lauryn, and Harper Streenz; Alexis Pollmann, Caleb Morefield, Makena Wagner, Logan Morefield, and Arianna Cochran; and Hudson Morefield.
Kevin is also survived by his brothers: Keith (Lorey), Kent (Sarah), and Gary (Tina) Morefield. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews along with many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his dad Bob Morefield and stepdad Fred Thompson.
Kevin was a very hardworking man. He began his working life at a young age, helping with Morefield Tiling and family farm operations. He moved on to become road commissioner of Arrowsmith Township for 28 years. He finished his career at the McLean County Highway Department.
Kevin took pride in everything he did. He always enjoyed his kid's games and activities, and this continued with his grandkids. He was good at putting miles on his truck with Jeri and all her bags. They were always traveling to various games and activities, being their grandkids biggest supporters no matter what. While not at games, you could find Kevin on his lawn mower, in his garden, and always cleaning his ice cream bowl out (clank, clank).
Kevin will be remembered as a devoted husband, dad, papa, brother, and friend— a man who never knew a stranger.
A causal celebration of life will be held on Sunday June 1st, 2025 from 1 to 4pm (but know he was always early), at Arrowsmith Community Center in Arrowsmith, IL. Please feel free to wear any and all sports gear but the Cincinati Reds were his favorite.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Hospital in honor of his grandson Hudson who won a courageous battle with cancer. Donation Link (Click Here)
