John J. Hettwer

Odell, Ill. -- John J. Hettwer, 75, of Odell, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Lemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lemont.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lawn Funeral Home, 7732 W. 159th St. Orland Park. A local memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Odell.

Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

He was a beloved husband of 51 years to Margaret (McAllister) Hettwer; a loving father of Michael, Patricia, Diane and John D. Hettwer; dearest brother of Betty (the late Russell) Hullinger and the late Robert (the late Marion) Tonn; and dear brother-in-law of Jim (Gerry) McAllister, Kay (Bill) Orr, the late Bob (Giselle) McAllister and Jack McAllister.

He served in the U.S. Army.
John was retired from ComEd and was a member of IBEW #1367 with more than 38 years of service.
