John F. "Jack" Leach Obituary (1947 - 2024)

John F. “Jack” Leach, 76, of Pontiac passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2:49 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. A Mass will be on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac. Officiating will be Father David Sabel with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac. A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 8, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Calvert Martin Funeral Home with the rosary to be recited at 3:30 p.m. Calvert-Martin Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Jack was born on August 27, 1947, to Joe and Lena (Lebo) Leach. He married Faye Jones in 1969, and later divorced. He married Judy Black in 2013. She survives in Pontiac. Also surviving is daughter, Jennifer (Bob) Cushman of Lagrange Highlands; son, Brian (Kegan) Leach of Steamboat Springs, CO; stepson, Howard (Janine) Black III of Mundelein, stepdaughter Kimberly Rigsby of Hermitage, TN; brother, Don (Kay) Leach of Columbia, TN; his beloved grandchildren, Alena and Addie Cushman, Boaz and Bartosh Leach; step-grandchildren, Tobey, Peyton and Seth Rigsby. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jack was educated in St. Mary’s Grade School and Pontiac High School. He was the pressroom foreman for the Daily Leader, owner and operator of Leach Offset Inc. for many years and a truck driver for Williams Trucking in Bloomington. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac. He loved woodworking, cruising around Pontiac, and most of all, spending time with family & friends.
