John A. Ziegler Obituary (1940

John A. Ziegler, 83, of Pontiac, IL was ushered into Heaven to meet his Savior on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at OSF St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, is handling the arrangements. John was born on May 24, 1940, in Fawn Grove, PA. He was the youngest son of Robert and Ethel (Heaps) Ziegler. On September 20, 1985, he married Sharon (Mattox) Tucker at Funks Grove. She survives in Pontiac, IL. He lived a life full of love and laughter, survived by four loving children: Jina (Gary) Shawback of Pontiac, IL, John (Kelli) Tucker of Bonita Springs, FL, Joni Russell of Pontiac, IL, and Juli Tucker of Pontiac, IL. He is also survived by six well-loved grandchildren: Levi and Gracie Shawback, Eliza (Shawback) Wittig, Kaitlin Tucker, Danielle and Dakota Russell; and one great-granddaughter: Lindon Wittig. He preceded in death by one brother, Curt Ziegler of PA, and is survived by one sister, Betty (Ziegler) Handley of TX. John was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. After that, he served as a beloved barber and friend to many as the proud owner of John’s Barber Shop for over 38 years. He spent his days ‘cutting up’ with his customers and sharing God’s love with them. John was loved by many and will be greatly missed. His memory will be a blessing to all who knew him.
