Joey Lee Shoraga, Sr., 67, of Nokomis, formerly of Pana, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in his home. He was born November 15, 1956, in Pana, IL to the late Bob Shoraga & Helen Puckett Eddy. Joey received an associate degree from Lake Land College and worked in the construction field, most recently working for Joe Coleman. He enjoyed music, DJing and playing guitar. Joey is survived by his children: Shawn Shoraga (Lisa Dagen), Pana, IL; Cole Shoraga, Pana, IL; Gunnar (Haley) Shoraga, Effingham, IL; Samantha Shoraga, Decatur, IL; stepchildren: Amy Moore, Nokomis, IL; Tawyna (Bink) Stout, Vandalia, IL; Dusty Kamalii, Pana, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings: Pat (Marvin) Bland, Pana, IL; Monista Weddle, Pana, IL; Tonda Shoraga, Taylorville, IL; Robert (Crystal) Shoraga, Shelbyville, IL. He was also preceded by his son, Joey Shoraga, Jr.; Stepsons, Jamie Russell, and Brandon Kamalii; and sister, Roberta Porter. Visitation for Joey will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials for Joey may be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
