Joanne Dorothy Finger August 2nd, 1952 - January 9th, 2026

Joanne Dorothy Finger, 73, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on January 9th, 2026. She was born on August 2nd, 1952 in Heyworth, Illinois to Harold Finger and Dorothy (Olson) Finger, and was the beloved sister of Paul Finger, all of whom preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Jan. 15, 2026, at Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL. Joanne will be laid to rest at Park Hill Cemetery following the visitation with a graveside service at 2pm.

Family was the most important thing in Joanne’s life. Joanne was loved by her parents, brother, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and will always be remembered as a loving, kind-hearted, compassionate person who was intelligent and fiercely independent. Joanne was a devoted daughter to her parents, and helped care for them in their later years. She was a devoted sister to her brother Paul, who cared for her deeply, and a devoted niece to her aunt, Dorothy Padgett, with whom she had many adventures.

Joanne greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on the holidays, and enjoyed reminiscing about summer picnics, Thanksgiving gatherings, and Christmas celebrations, which included dinners of lutefisk and potatiskorv prepared by her mother. Joanne was a skilled photographer, loved to laugh and had an amazing sense of humor, and was an aficionado of classic movies.

Apart from her devotion to family, among her most important and admirable qualities was her faith and lifelong membership of the St. John’s Lutheran church congregation.
