Joan Camfield-Boyd

Joan Marie Camfield-Boyd, 82, of Dalton City, IL passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
Joan was born on April 9, 1944 in Macon, IL, the daughter of Wayne and Pearl (Bolyard) Boyd. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur after 33 years of dedicated service.
Joan enjoyed traveling and rode her Harley all over America. She also enjoyed hunting with her son Johnathon, grandson Jayson, sister Judy and the love of her life Ronnie Ray. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was the most important thing in Joan’s life.
Joan is survived by her sons: William Camfield of Decatur, IL, Johnathon Camfield of Buffalo, IL and David Camfield of Findley, IL; brothers: Kenneth (Judy) Boyd of Argenta, IL, Raymond (Sue) Boyd of Cisco, IL and David (Beth) Boyd of Murdock, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving companion: Ron Mathias, son: Richard Camfield and her sister: Judith Pearl Houser.
A graveside service to honor Joan’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL. Calvert & Wikoff North Chapel is assisting the family with services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
