Jo Ann Marsaglia

Jo Ann "Walker" Marsaglia, 92, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, August 4, 2025.

She is the daughter of Roy Walker and Ann Novotny Smith. She was born on October 2, 1932, in Springfield. At the age of three her father passed away and Ann married Charles Smith who helped raise Jo Ann.

She married Tudsie Marsaglia in 1950, Tudsie and Jo Ann owned and operated a tavern in Virden from 1964 until 1971 called Tud's & Jo's. She then worked for the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources until her retirement.

Proceeding her in death was her parents and her husband, Tudsie who passed away in 1993.

She is survived by her family, Roseanne (Jim) Hasara, Mike (Deb) Marsaglia, Kathy (Tom) Jenkins, and Gary (Angie) Marsaglia all of Virden.

Jo Ann had nine grandchildren, Becca (Jeff) Yemm, Melonee (Michael) Riffey, Rich (Melissa) Marsaglia, Kimberly Jenkins, Eric (Tasha)Marsaglia, Amanda (Rick) Schnetzler, Lacey (Will) MacLeod, Chad Jenkins, and Jacob (Lauren) Marsaglia.

She had seventeen great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sirtout, Alexis Brumfield, Abigail Beattie, Anya Riffey, Julia Riffey, Kade Marsaglia, James Jenkins, Rome Marsaglia, Charlee Marsaglia, Brock Marsaglia, Graysen Marsaglia, Caelynn Menard, Margaret Jenkins, Keegan MacLeod, Miles Schnetzler, Jackson Marsaglia and Laney Marsaglia and five great-great grandchildren, Chance Sirtout, Leo Brumfield, August Sirtout, Evalyse Brumfield and Dominic Brumfield.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home in Virden. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation, at the funeral home. Burial and a graveside service will take place Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Virden Cemtery.
