Jerry Tegenkamp, 75, of Normal, died at 7:31 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal with Monsignor Eric Powell officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, Septembe 14, 2014 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington and from 9:30-10:00 a.m., Monday at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal.Jerry was born on May 31, 1939 in Effingham, the son of Anthony and Cecilia Koester Tegenkamp. He married Marilyn Dettro on February 7, 1959 in Effingham, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2007.He is survived by three children, Crystal Tegenkamp of Normal, Craig (Leigh) Tegenkamp of Raymore, Missouri and Scott Tegenkamp of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Matt, Marc, Marlee and Evan; four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Nolan, Peyton and Luke; two sisters, Ramona Dirks and Dorothy Levitt, both of Effingham.He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.Jerry graduated from St. Anthony High School in Effingham and attended Quincy College in Quincy, IL. He worked for Country Financial for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1997 as Director of Underwriting.Jerry was an active member of Epiphany Catholic Church and the Rev. Thomas Carmody Knights of Columbus Council #6498, both in Normal. He enjoyed spending time with his large family and many friends.
