Jean Ann Schou

Jean Ann Schou, 78, of Dwight, passed away at 4:40 am on Tuesday August 6, 2019 at Heritage Health in Dwight, IL.
Visitation will be from 10am until the time of services on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Dwight, IL. Funeral services will be 12pm also on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow the services at McDowell Cemetery in Dwight, IL. Memorials in her name may be left to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor's choice. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is handling the arrangements.
Jean Ann was born in Dwight, IL on July 13, 1941, a daughter of Lester and Helen (Jensen) McConnell. She married Paul Schou in December of 1964 at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Dwight, IL. He passed away on July 29, 2013.
Surviving are sons, Gregory (Julie) Schou of Laveen, AZ, Douglas (Jen Corrigan) Schou of Dwight; daughter, Sandra (Paula) Schou of St. Paul, MN; brother, Donald (Laurie) McConnell of Dwight; sisters-in-law Meletta Schou of Dwight, Shirley Schou of Rockford, IL, Audrey Schou of Streator, IL; step-brother, Lee (Beverly) Jensen of Dwight; grandchildren, Sidney, Colton, Keegan, Braelyn and Kai.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father, Milton Jensen and sister, Juantia Bateman.
Jean Ann was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ, while she was a member of the church she was very active and helped as a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed playing the piano for the children. She also was a member of the women's guild at the church and helped with funeral dinners. Jean also volunteered with the youth bowling program. She was an avid Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan, but had a special place in her heart for the Dwight Trojans.
