Jay Evan Hamilton, 43, of Taylorville died at 4:38pm Saturday, March 5, 2005, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.\r\r\nHe was born December 15, 1961, in Decatur, the son of Dean and Artie Blackshare Hamilton. He married Angela Eaton on November 13, 1999 in Paducah, KY. He was employed as a project manager for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. He graduated with a B.S. Degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Master's Degree from University of Illinois at Springfield. He was a member of the Rochester United Methodist Church, where he was a senior and junior high youth advisor and Sunday School teacher. He was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America, a former Region Chief with Order of the Arrow and camp counselor and director for ten years. He also received the God and Country award. \r\r\nSurviving are his wife, Angela, daughter, Alys Clare Hamilton of Taylorville; sons: Henry Cole Hamilton and Caleb Thomas Hamilton, both of Taylorville; Parents of Moweaqua; grandmother, Syble Blackshare of Mt. Zion; and sister, Lea Ann Oelfke of Mt. Zion. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers; and on grandmother.
