Janice Mae Lancaster Obituary (1935

Janice Mae Lancaster, 88, of Macon, IL passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. A service to honor Janice's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon, family pastor Steve Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Janice will be laid to rest in South Macon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to South Macon Public Library. Janice was born on January 20, 1935 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Carl and Trenna (Jones) Carroll. She married Charles H. "Muggs" Lancaster on August 28, 1953. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2020. Janice served as a cook for the Macon School District and worked for Kentucky Lithography in Macon. She was a member of the Macon Auxiliary and the Evening Women's Club. Janice enjoyed reading and painting. Janice is survived by her children: Hollie Morris (Craig, Sr.) of Mt. Zion, IL, Patricia Cox (John) of Macon, IL and Shelley Lancaster of Macon, IL; brother: Tom Carroll (Pat) of Redondo Beach, CA; sister-in-law: Jeanne Carroll of Moweaqua, IL; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Richard "Muggs" Lancaster, twin sister: Joyce Carroll, brothers: Richard Carroll, Kenny Carroll.
