Jane L. Peverly, 72, of Normal, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. Inurnment will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.To view the obituary online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com.She was born on February 16, 1945 in Streator, daughter of Henry and Katherine Taylor Gustafson of Rutland, IL. Jane attended Wenona Grade and Wenona High Schools and the University of Illinois in Urbana. She married George Everett Peverly on August 30, 1969.Jane is survived by her loving husband, George of Normal; her beloved children, Theresa (Tim Cowsert) Peverly of Bloomington, Paul (Terri) Peverly, currently stationed in Misawa Japan, Catherine (Eric) Stone of Metamora, Peter Peverly of Naperville, Mary Peverly of Normal and Angela (Erick Pasciak) Peverly of Normal; her dear grandchildren, Henry Oliver Cowsert, Laakea, Pono Lena Peverly, AJ, Ethan, Siena Sydney Stone, Elliot Nathan Simeroth and Theodore Pasciak. Also surviving are her brothers, Ronald (Rosanne) Seibel of Adelphi, MD and Dale (Jackie) Gustafson of Nolensville, TN and her sister, Carol Stenzel of Peoria.She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Katherine Gustafson, and one grandchild, Fiona Cowsert.Jane worked for Girl Scout Council of the Pacific, Centrillio Girl Scout Council of Bloomington, Kickapoo Council Girl Scouts of Peoria, State Farm Agent Karen Fulte, and the Archbishop Fulton John Sheen Foundation.Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and genealogy. She also gave generously of her time teaching religious education in Hawaii and in El Paso, IL for over 20 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and served as an election official in El Paso and Bloomington, IL. Primarily though, Jane was a devoted wife and mother, and a woman of deep faith who lived a life of love and laughter. She will be deeply missed.
