Jan P. Koeller Obituary (1949

Jan Paul Koeller, 75, of Flanagan, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 31, 2025 at 5:03 am at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria. A visitation will be Friday November 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Flanagan. The Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 8th, 10:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with an hour prior visitation. Rev. Ben Blobaum will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Flanagan, with full military rites accorded by the Flanagan American Legion. A meal will follow at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Flanagan American Legion Post 456. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan, oversees arrangements. Jan was born November 22, 1949, in Pontiac, IL to Paul A. and Verniel Zimmerman Koeller. He married Susan Tuttle on June 25, 1982, in Flanagan, IL. She survives. Also surviving is one brother Grant of Flanagan, sons Ben (Tammy) Koeller, Christopher (Marissa) Koeller both of Flanagan, and daughters Julie Mueller, of Peoria, and Jennifer (Dusty) Gibson of Maryville, IL. His cherished grandchildren are Hattie, August, Andrew, Henry, Matthew and Katarina Koeller, Nicholas and Eli Mueller, Grace and Amy Gibson. His parents and his sister-in-law, Cindy Koeller, preceded him in death. Jan was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Flanagan, and a 50-year member of Flanagan American Legion Post 456. Jan graduated from Illinois State University and served with the 3rd infantry Division in Germany. He farmed with family since 1974.
