James Turner

James I. Turner, 68, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026.

Born on July 29, 1957, in Taylorville, Illinois, James was the son of the late Lois Jean Turner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth Turner and Karen Turner, and his daughter, April Kaylor.

James is survived by his loving children: Tony Lundstrom, Amy (Kory) Burch, Micah Turner, Stephanie Turner, Logan (Kirstie) Turner, and Cody Turner. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rick (Rose) Turner, Eddie (Julie) Turner, Connie (Larry) Jarman, Lois (Brian) Stanbary, and Becca Crandell.

James was the proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 9 great-grandchildren. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and creating lasting memories with those he loved.

An outdoorsman at heart, James found happiness in fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, riding motorcycles, and target shooting. Whether he was enjoying the quiet of nature or sharing stories with family and friends, he lived life in a way that reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for simple pleasures.

James will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous nature, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Divernon American Legion Hall Post 278, located at 249 S. 2nd St., Divernon, IL 62530. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate James’s life, share memories, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
