James M. "Jimmy" Glenn, Sr. Obituary (1946

James “Jimmy” M. Glenn, Sr., 77 of Virden passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024. He was born August 22, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Ralph M. and Barbara Louise (Gough) Glenn. Jimmy had served his Country in the United States Army and had worked for Rochester High School as a Janitor, Memorial Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant and St. John’s Hospital as a driver for Adult Day Care and finally, as an In Home Caregiver. He loved riding his motorcycle, animals and traveling. One of Jimmy’s greatest joy was taking care of others. Jimmy is survived by his sons James M. (Mindy) Glenn, Jr. of Sherman and Troy (Elly) Glenn of Springfield; daughter Janna Glenn of Clintonville, WI; grandchildren Marrissa (Tyler Hanke) Dallman, Andrew (Sam Steenbock) Cook, David Thompson, Marc Glenn, Kathryn (Matt) Schmidt, Keary Glenn and Brittany (Austen Kuizin) Glenn; great grandchildren Kailyn, Morgan, Landen, Cora and Jackson; brothers Larry Glenn of Springfield and Clifford (Dottie) Glenn of Beloit, WI; sisters Susie Glenn of Indianapolis, IN, Janet Glenn of Indianapolis, IN and Gail Allen of Springfield along with many nieces & nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald, Ralph, Billy, Bobby, George and Mark Glenn and sisters Martha Craig and Sharon Roach. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden with Pastor Jacob Norton officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Virden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Monday, February 5, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested and may be made to the Veteran’s Association or the Animal Protection League and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for Jimmy’s family.
