James N Lee, M.D. Obituary (1935

James Nai Jie Lee, M.D., 84, of Bloomington, died unexpectedly at home on the evening of October 30, 2019. He was born on February 1, 1935 in Taishan, Guangzhou, China about 80 miles west of Hong Kong, to Lee Dao Yuan and Huang Jie Qiung. He graduated from National Defense Medical School in the Republic of China and married his college sweetheart Ching Lee in 1962. They celebrated 57 years of marriage on August 18, 2019. After serving for ten years in the army, rising to the rank of Major, he retired and pursued further training at Pontiac General Hospital and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan prior to opening his pediatric practice in Bloomington, IL in 1974. He was a beloved and dedicated pediatrician for 34 years and retired in 2008. He was always available for his patients and ready to help everyone. He loved photography, fishing and gardening. But most of all, he loved helping his patients. He was predeceased by his parents. Surviving in addition to his wife Ching Lee, sons Charles (Grace) Lee of Trabuco Canyon, CA, Drs. Dennis (Anita) Lee of Bloomington. He was the proud grandfather to 4 grandchildren Jason, Nathan, Alexander, and Olivia Lee. He is also survived by his younger brother Nai Chao Lee and family in Vancouver, BC, Canada Visitation will be from 10 am to 12:30 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Carmody Flynn Funeral Home, 1800 Eastland Dr, Bloomington, IL. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 pm. Those who wish to remember James in a special way may make a contribution in his name to the Baby Fold in Normal, IL.
