Ila June Neisler Obituary (1932 - 2023)

Ila June Neisler, 91, of Athens passed away peacefully August 29, 2023, in Virden, Illinois. She was born June 27, 1932 in Sorento, the daughter of Aaron Homer Price and Sarah Elizabeth (Hinton) Price. She married Donald "Don" Neisler on October 17, 1952 in Long Beach, California and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2023. June was a faithful member of Western Oaks Baptist Church in Springfield. She retired in 1997 after long-time employment at the Illinois Baptist State Association. An avid collector of Santa figures, roosters and decorative plates, June also enjoyed quilting, traveling, scrapbooking, flower gardening, and was a crafter of all sorts. Her greatest love in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. June is survived by her sons Michael (Connie) Neisler and Earl Bruce (Petra) Neisler and daughters Susan Brodniak and Sharilyn Owings; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Don, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Wilmer, Uhl and Wade, sisters Fern and Leah Mae, and great granddaughter Teagan Rowland. In keeping with her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and her family will host a memorial service at the Ramsey Baptist Church in Ramsey, Il on Saturday, September 9th. Visitation will begin at 9am, with the service to follow at 10am. Private family committal services will follow.
