Herb Lomelino

Herbert Lynn Lomelino, 81, of Virden, IL, went home to be with the Lord November 5, 2025, at Litchfield Health and Rehab.

Herb was born June 13, 1944, at Carlinville Hospital. He was the youngest of eleven children. He married Kay Neely on June 22, 1963 in Virden, IL.

He is preceded in death by his son, Steven Lomelino of Girard, IL.

Surviving are his wife Kay Lomelino of Springfield, IL; his daughter Kimberley (Brent) Jacobs of Springfield, IL; his daughter-in-law, Brenda Lomelino of Girard, IL; his grandsons, Jordan (Rachel) Lomelino of Canton, IL, Shaun Lomelino of Girard, IL; his granddaughter Meghan (Tyler) Middleton of Auburn Hills, MI; his grandson Matthew Jacobs of Springfield, IL; his brothers, Melvin Lomelino of Girard, IL, Harvey (Barb) Lomelino of Riverton, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Herb was a very giving man who loved his wife and family! He also loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, boating on Sunset Lake, and fishing. He also loved to work with is hands, building and fixing things. Herb was a member of Grace Church in Springfield for many years. He will be dearly missed!

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden, IL. A funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church in Springfield or to Litchfield Health and Rehab/Activities.
