Henry Peters

FLANAGAN -- Henry Peters, 99, of Flanagan died at 3 p.m. Saturday (March 13, 2010) at Chateau Nursing Home, Willowbrook.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Flanagan, with the Rev. Owen Derrick officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Flanagan. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church. Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Jan. 24, 1911, in Odell, the son of Louis and Meta Fredirika Park Peters. Henry married Fadra A. Mayo on Oct. 10, 1945, in Joliet. She died March 23, 2000.

Survivors include three sons, Louis J. Peters, Willowbrook; Lynn G. Peters, Groton, Conn.; and David L. Peters, Flanagan; two daughters, Sharon L. (Robert) Newman, Woodbridge, Va.; and Patricia L. (Kevin) Davis, Stout Plainfield; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Diane L. Peters; two brothers, Alex Peters and Christian Peters; and one sister, Barbara Peters.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Flanagan.

Henry attended Flanagan schools and had been a pipe fitter for General Motors.
