Harold Lloyd Moreland, Sr. Obituary (1936

Harold Lloyd Moreland, Sr., 84, of Ashley, MI, formerly of Pana, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Sparrow Carson Hospital, Carson City, MI. He was born August 8, 1936 in Ramsey, IL, to Frank & Jessie (Virden) Moreland, growing up on the family farm. Harold married his first wife, Marilyn Agnes Rakers, in July 1959 in Oconee, IL and they lived in Ramsey, IL. They divorced in 1972 and she passed away on August 23, 2001. He moved to Michigan in 1969 with Betty, his second wife, whom he married in 1972. While in Michigan, he was employed by Alma Plastics for 18 years when he retired. He and Betty moved to Pana, IL in 1995, where he worked at Mid-State Core in Decatur, IL, retiring in 2005. Betty passed away in July 2007. He married Connie Lee Butzirus Crittenden on May 15, 2010 in Pana, IL. Connie passed away on February 13, 2013. He continued to live in Pana, taking care of Bobby until October 2016. He then moved to Michigan in June 2019. Harold enjoyed fishing, dancing at Danceland, playing bingo, gambling, gardening, listening to music & going to church and loved his family most of all. He is survived by his children: Gene (Shirley) Polley; Jennilynn Rogers; Ken (Jacqueline) Moreland; George (Sheri) Polley; Elaine Leigh; Bryan (Dawn) Polley; June Davis; Bobby Polley; Barbie (David) Finch; Mike Moreland; Harold (Jodie) Moreland, Jr.; Roger (Nikki) Crittenden; Chrissy Davis; Tonya (David) Hoffman; 62 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and siblings: Cheryl Allen, Gordon, Moreland & Ivan Moreland. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives: Marilyn Moreland, Betty Moreland & Connie Moreland; son, David Polley; son-in-law, Ken Rogers; grandchildren: Jason Polley, Randy Polley, Jennifer Polley, Jeffery Moreland, Charity Moreland, Jeremy Moreland; brother, Curtis Moreland; sisters: Collette Snyder & Betty Ball; brother-in-law, Melvin Allen A memorial service for Harold will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Community of Christ Church, 4860 N. State Rd., Alma, MI 48801 with Pastor Barbara Utt officiating. A memorial mass for Harold will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 303 Locust St., Pana, IL 62557 with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family.
