Harley McCombe

Harley D. McCombe, 79, of Pana passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in his home. He was born April 19, 1947 in Springfield, MA to Harold & Elaine (Rea) McCombe and was raised in Stockton, CA. Harley and Christine Mercurio were married on February 28, 1993 in Reno, NV and she survives in Pana, IL.
Harley served in the U.S. Army and then worked in sales and dog training at Park Center Kennels in Pana before retirement. Harley loved remodeling and antiques. He lived a very colorful life and told even more colorful stories.
In addition to his wife, Harley is survived by his children: Ashlee (John) Lopez, Stockton, CA; Clayton (Melissa) McCombe, Plaistow, NH; Jordan McCombe, Denver, CO; Joshua (Emily) McCombe, Bolingbrook, IL; Jacob McCombe, Charleston, IL; Julian McCombe, Pana, IL; grandchildren: Breanna (Christian) Thornton, Cruz Lopez, Avlynn Lopez, Emry Lopez, Miles McCombe, Mila McCombe; 3 great grandchildren and siblings: Linda (Jack) Jaramillo, Jackson, CA and Leland Hieb, California. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold McCombe and mother, Elaine Hieb.
Per Harley’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned.
Memorials in Harley’s honor may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
