Guy D. "Doug" Statzer Obituary (1950

Guy D. "Doug" Statzer, 73, of Champaign, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital. Doug was born February 7, 1950, the son of Guy L. and Leola Curfman Statzer. Doug is survived by his son, Justin Statzer of Champaign and daughter, Lora Lala of Mahomet; 2 grandchildren, Liliana and Carter Statzer; sister, Karla Dillion of Newman; and brother, Tom (Janice) Statzer of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Michael and Jeff; and one sister, Virginia (Ginny) Carson. Doug was retired from the Champaign Post Office. He was an Army veteran and received a Purple Heart in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed his family, the Cubs and the Illini. Graveside services will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign at a later date. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City is assisting the family with arrangements.
