Grace E. Rist

Grace E. Rist, 71 of Bloomington, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke .

Grace was born in Normal, Illinois on July 16, 1952 the daughter of William and Geneva (Conder) Rist.

She is survived by her 2 nephews who she raised: Chris (Erin) Kelley, El Paso, Illinois and Brian Kelley, Bloomington, Illinois. She is also survived by her cousin, Beverly Mulvaney and her close friend, Pam Skeen both of Bloomington, Illinois and her 2 cats Ozzie and Lily. She was preceded by her parents and 1 sister.

After graduating high school Grace joined the US Army in 1971 and served until 1974. After she left the Army she joined the Army National Guard, went to ISU graduating in 1979 and went to work for the Illinois Farm Bureau.

Grace was a member of the Bloomington Bible Church and participated for 12 years with the American Passion Play. In her free time she loved reading and enjoyed going to Disney World, but her greatest joy was raising her boys.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke for their wonderful care and compassion for Grace these past 6 months.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 5-7pm at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois. Services will be on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Powers officiating. Following the service burial will be held at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, IL

The family suggests memorials to be made to the Bloomington Bible Church, Alzheimer’s Association or the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
