Gloria Ann Rebholz Obituary (1927

Gloria Ann (Benway) Rebholz slipped into the arms of our heavenly Father on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 406 North 5th Street, Chatsworth, IL, with Fr. David Sabel and Deacon Ray White officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Chatsworth, IL. Memorials can be made to Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Calvert and Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements. She was born on June 26, 1927, in Bloomington, a daughter of Albert J. and Anna C. (Rudolph) Benway. Gloria Ann was the last surviving family member of the Albert Benway family. She was proceeded in death by her parents: Albert & Anna Rudolph. Her loving sisters: Josephine Hatfield, Geraldine Rebholz, LaVerne Kurtenbach, Loretta Wiesinger, and Helen Kelly. Gloria Ann’s six brothers: Joe, Jerome, William, Paul, Weldon and Keith. Gloria Ann married the love of her life, James E. Rebholz, on June 11, 1949, at St. Rose’s Catholic Church, Strawn, Illinois. He passed away in 2003. She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Ann (Lynn) Holtzman, Louisville, KY; Mary Sue (Wayne) Booth, Knoxville, TN; two sons, Jim (Connie) Rebholz, Odell, IL; and John (Anita) Rebholz, Pontiac, IL; seven grandchildren, Heidi Holtzman, Louisvillle, KY; Mindy (Javie) Vargas, Bozeman, MT; Craig Rebholz, Odell, IL; Eric (Malinda) Rebholz, Long Island, NY; Elana Rebholz, Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Stephanie and Theresa Booth, Knoxville, TN; and four great-grandchildren, Jonah Booth, Kaleb Booth (Kayla Radaker), Knoxville, TN; and Lexy and Ian Vargus, Bozeman, MT. Gloria Ann was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Chatsworth. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society before moving to Knoxville, Tennessee. Gloria Ann was proud of her family and loved them very much. She enjoyed baking cookies, pies, and cakes for her grandchildren to nibble on when visiting. She loved the Illinois summers and loved her time in the yard mowing the grass, watering, planting flowers and visiting with her neighbors.
