Giovanna Navarra Obituary (1938

Giovanna Navarra, 81, of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019, at home. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2019, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois. Her funeral celebration will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with Father Eric Bolek officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Le Roy, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Giovanna was born March 21, 1938, in Tripoli, Libya, to Domenico and Paolina Ruggiero Albanese. She married Leonardo "Dino" Navarra on August 9, 1962, in Tripoli, Libya. He passed away October 20, 2017. She is survived by her two daughters, Lidia B. Navarra of Le Roy, Illinois, and Patrizia L. (Jayson) Brady of Normal, Illinois; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carmalina and Graziella Albanese of Italy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters; one brother; daughter, Antonella Navarra, and six grandchildren. Giovanna loved to be outside in her garden and cook meals for her family. She was a loving mother; sister; grandmother; great-grandmother; and friend who will be deeply missed.
