Gerald Neal Wilkinson

Gerald N. Wilkinson, 84, formerly of Mattoon, passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Evergreen Village in Normal.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to American Legion Post #88, Mattoon.

He was born October 5, 1934 in Mattoon, son of William and Kate Hubbell Wilkinson. He married Beverly Maycroft.

Surviving are two daughters, Vickie (Bryan) Brown of Tuscola and Donna (Dave) Sandage of Arrowsmith; four grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) Sandage of Chicago, Kate Blahnik and Jennifer Meyer, both of Champaign and Christina Meyer of Tuscola and one great-grandson, William Sandage. Also surviving is one brother, Kenneth (June) Wilkinson of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by one sister.

He is a United States Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #88 in Mattoon.

Jerry enjoyed photography and worked as a photographer as well as on the family farm in Toledo.

He enjoyed collecting coins and bird watching and he loved nature and gardening.
