Gerald M. "Jerry" Ploense age 81 of Bloomington, IL passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Monday October 22,2018 at Heritage Healthcare, Normal, Illinois. A graveside service will be held at Randolph Township Cemetery, Heyworth,IL yet to be determined. Military Rites will be accorded. Jerry was born February 7, 1937 in Bloomington, Il. The son of Herman and Lillian Vance Ploense. He married Lois Eileen Mann on October 15, 1955. She survives. Also surviving are his 3 sons, Ron (Barb) Ploense, Lexington, IL., Jim (Debbie) Ploense, LeRoy,IL., Steve (Cyndi) Ploense, Cabot, Ar. 3 grandchildren, Nichole,Ryan,Karissa and great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers and 1 sister, Kenny (Evelyn) Ploense, Margie (Steve) Deiter, Mark (Elaine) Ploense. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. Jerry served his country proudly in the U.S.Airforce during the VietNam war, achieving the rank of MSGT and receiving many accommodations including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He also worked for District 87 schools, and Carquest. Jerry was a loving husband father grandfather, great grandfather, he will be missed by all that knew him.
