Gerald L. "Smoky" Lowe

Gerald L. "Smokey" Lowe, 83, of El Paso, IL passed away at 7:38 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his home.
Cremation rites were accorded and private services will be held at a later date. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gerald was born July 12, 1936 in Danville, IL the son of Ralph V. and Delores E. Taylor Lowe. He married Arlene L. Jessup on December 20, 1956 in Perrysville, IN. They were married for 58 years and she died April 23, 2015.
Surviving are four children David (Gale) Lowe of Fithian, Chris (Mary) Lowe of Golden Valley, AZ, Molly Lowe of El Paso, and Justin (Katie) Lowe of Kenosha, WI; she has nine grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff) McGuire, Dustin Lowe, Cassie (Randy) Garrels, Disa Lowe, Heather (Anthony) Smith, Alaina Smith, Kaylan Martin, Madalyn Lowe, Charlize "Charlie" Lowe; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Dustin.
Smokey was a graduate of Westville High School and the Police Training Institute. He worked for the Woodford County Sheriff's Department and had served as a Juvenile Officer and retired in 1996. He was a loving dad and grandpa who enjoyed spending time with his family.
