George Karrick

George Norman Karrick, 93, of Virden, IL, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. George was born June 21, 1932, in St. Louis, MO. He married Elizabeth Karrick. She preceded him in death in 1998.

Surviving are his son, Randy Karrick of Virden, IL; his three grandsons, Josh (Danielle) Karrick of Virden, IL, Isaac (Kristin) Karrick of Girard, IL, and Bradley Karrick of Virden, IL; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; his grandson, Jacob Karrick; and his brother, Ralph Karrick.

George was drafted into the Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. After being discharged, he became a farmer. He enjoyed his time out in the fields and had a passion for cars. He could spot a car a mile away and could tell you the year, make, and model.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Virden Cemetery, 19220 Cemetery Road, Virden, IL. 62690.
