Geno A. Tony DiPietro Obituary (1937

Geno A. "Tony" DiPietro, 68, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:30 pm Friday, September 16, 2005 at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. He was born March 15, 1937 in Northbrook, IL the son of Marco and Betinna D'Innocenzo DiPietro. On April 10, 1976 he married Alberta Lanzotti Horton at their residence in Taylorville. Mr. DiPietro was a manufacturing executive retiring from Macon Metals; he was affiliated with St. Mary's Catholic Church; a former Pilot with the Marine Corps; an Evans Scholar; former active Sertoma member; was a coach with many sports programs including Little League, Pony League, Colt League, and basketball; he was instrumental in helping organize the J.F.L (Junior Football League) in Taylorville and was the winningest coach with the JFL. He was on the Board of Directors of Christian County Mental Health and was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife Alberta of Taylorville, IL, Daughters: Julie Lilly and husband Jared of Taylorville and Cathy Robertson and husband Darrell of Taylorville, Brothers: James DiPietro and wife Jenny of Phoenix, AZ and Peter DiPietro and wife Pam of Carefree, AZ, Sister-in-law: Peggy DiPietro of Northbrook, IL. 5 Grandchildren: Dyllan Williams, Grifin Lilly, Aaron Robertson, Leah Robertson and Anna Grace Robertson. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Alex DiPietro, Henry DiPietro and Marco DiPietro. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 21, 2005 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2005 in the funeral home.
