Gene L. Crouch Obituary (1940

Gene L. Crouch, 84 of Girard passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at his son’s home in Fairmont, WV, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 14, 1940 in Standard City, the son of Stanley “Buck” and Frances (Ruyle) Crouch. Gene had proudly served his Country in the United States Navy and had retired as a welder at Fiat Allis. He attended Boston Chapel Church and was a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved playing music and golfing with his friends at Oak Hills Country Club in Girard. Gene is survived by his sons William Scott (Lori) Crouch of Fairmont, WV and Ronald Eugene (Terri) Crouch of Johnstown, CO; grandchildren Andrew Scott (Adriana) Crouch of Fairmont, WV, Franchesca Nichole Budd of Columbia, SC, Robert Ian Foley of Fairview, WV, Sarah Nikole Foley of Fairmont, WV, Hayley Sahara Crouch and Sean Thomas Crouch, both of Johnstown, CO; great-grandsons Malakai David Scott Crouch and Nikolai Bradley Jo Crouch, both of Fairmont, WV; brother Robert Stanley (Randy) Crouch; sisters Marilyn (Jack) Caufield, Martha Grace Dollins and Rita (Carl) DeBarr; and his companion of many years, Mary Ann Smith of Girard, IL, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Alan England, who was killed in action in Vietnam. Gene’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service at Boston Chapel Church on Saturday, August 3 at 3:00 p.m. and he will be laid to rest at the Bethel Ridge Cemetery in Atwater following the service. The family is thankful for the caring support of Elara Hospice in Illinois and Amedisys Hospice in West Virginia in his final days.
