Gary Lee Babbs Obituary (1949 - 2024)

Gary Lee Babbs, 74 of Pontiac, IL died Friday April 12, 2024 at 4:40am at his residence. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, IL with Pastor Jarrod Bartholomew of Pontiac Bible Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the hour of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials in Gary’s name may be made to the Autism Foundation. Gary was born on December 13, 1949 in Kankakee, IL a son of Leslie and Alda (Hartman) Babbs. He married Kinberly Markwell on January 4, 2002 and she survives in Pontiac, IL. Also surviving are two sons: Troy Babbs of Chatsworth, IL and Derrick (Tina) Babbs of Paxton, IL; two daughters: Leslie Babbs of Normal, IL and Katie Babbs Becker of Pontiac, IL; two step-children: Renee (Glenn) Noordhof and Aaron (Jennifer) Niepoetter III both of Az; two sisters: Donna Stehle and Kathy (Randy) Rhoades both of Fairbury, IL; grandchildren: Jonah, Virginia , Evan, Shayna and Luke Babbs, Breanna Pulliam, Zachary (Gary’s trucking buddy) and Reagan Noordhof, A.J. and Addy Niopeotter, Bailee, Blaire (who always said Grandpa was her best buddy), Bonnie Lee (Grandpas namesake) and Billie Becker; one great grandchild: Ember Diemer; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his adoptive family: Karon, Izik, Landyn, Braelynn and Adeline Kokoszka. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Russell Babbs and one sister: Linda Angus. Gary worked at Forrest Milk for 28 years. He was a hard worker who always made sure his family had what they needed.
