Frederick Skowronski

Frederick G. “Fred” Skowronski Jr., 82, of LaPlace, IL passed away at 2:20 a.m., Sunday, January 28, 2024, in OSF Heart of Mary Hospital, Urbana, IL.

A service to honor Fred’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 5, 2024, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday morning. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Fred was born January 2, 1942, in Decatur, IL the son of Frederick “Gus” and Evelyn (Booker) Skowronski Sr. Fred married Sharon K. Bodine on November 2, 1962. He was a self-employed contractor and had owned and operated Fred’s Custom Services. Fred was a member of the Laplace United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his wife: Sharon of LaPlace; sons: Dennis Skowronski (Brenda) of Long Creek and Rick Skowronski (Becky) of LaPlace; brother: Don Skowronski (Cheri) of Long Creek; nieces and nephews: Jason Skowronski (Rebecca), Jeremy Skowronski (Ann), and Amanda Martin (Chris); grandchildren: Suzie Hackl (Chris) of Ocala, FL, Deanna Skowronski (fiancé Ryan Landes) of Mt. Zion, Greg Maltby (Paege) of Decatur, Heather Maltby of Decatur, Tabatha Skowronski of Decatur, Tristen Skowronski of LaPlace, and Taylor Skowronski of LaPlace, twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his son: Rodney.
