Francis Smyth

Normal- Francis “Frank” P. Smyth ,60, passed away on April 28, 2026 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL.
Frank was born on January 25, 1966 in Des Moines, IA; son of James P. and Lula (McBee) Smyth. He married Heather Beerup on March 25, 2000 in Bloomington, IL. She survives him.
Also surviving Frank is his daughter: Jenna Smyth and three brothers: Patrick (Cathy Bridgewater) Smyth of Danville, IL, John Smyth of Normal, IL, and Paul Smyth Burton, MI; his father and mother-in-law: Robert and Darla Beerup of Hudson, IL; sister-in-law: Mariah (Jim) Stelte of Normal, IL; brother-in-law: Matt Beerup of Normal, IL; grandmother-in-law: Esther Lovin of Macon, IL; several cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law: Debbie.
Frank worked in Administrative Services at State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington, IL. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, or gardening. He loved talking to people and made friends wherever he went and often volunteered at the Midwest Food Bank. Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00pm-5:00pm Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Calvert Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL. A rosary service will be held at 2:45pm prior to visitation with Father David Richardson officiating. Memorials may be made in Franks name to the Frank Smyth Memorial Fund at IAA Credit Union, 808 IAA Drive, Bloomington, IL 61702.
