Frances Jean Mortimore, 77, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, in Normal.\r\n\r\nThere will be a private family graveside service with Pastor James Wolfe III at Pike Cemetery, Graymont.\r\n\r\nDuffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.\r\n\r\nFrances was born June 28, 1944, in Pontiac, IL to Earl Chalmers and Dorothy Lorraine (Ehrhardt) Mortimore.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Whitney (Mortimore) Grant of Irving, TX; brother, Michael A. (Vicki) Mortimore of Niles, MI; sisters, Barbara (Chip) Hanback of Franklin, TN and Bunny (John) Underwood of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Brinaye, Romaine, Ziyonne and Roystne A. Grant; dear friends, Marilyn & Jack Jolliff; and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dorothy Mortimore, and brother, Charles Mortimore.\r\n\r\nFran was educated in Owego Grade School and Pontiac Township High School, Class of 1962. She received a Licensed Practical Nursing degree with a Post Graduate LPN degree from Baylor University.\r\n\r\nFran was a nurse for OB-GYN Doctors William Henderson and Carolyn Garcia for many years in Bloomington. She loved her job and the many families she met over the years. Growing up on a farm in Owego Township, Fran never lost her love of "playing in the dirt" planting flowers. When visiting family, she would always ask if she could help with the gardening. Every Memorial Day, Fran with several cousins would visit the gravesites of family members either bringing or planting flowers. She loved the time spent with her four grandchildren.
