Fayetta "Faye" Mae Thorne, 87, of Odell, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at her residence in Odell. Her service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Pastor Janeen Tronc officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Odell. Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Faye was born September 10, 1935, in Pontiac, Illinois to Walter and Vera Marie (Lloyd) McKinsey. She married George Raymond Thorne on October 28, 1953, at Odell Congregational Church in Odell. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2008. She is survived by her children, Gary (Ivy) Thorne of Newbury Park, CA, Peggy (Dave) Kodat of New Lenox, IL; Linda (John) Shrewsbury of Pontiac, IL, and Catherine (Glen) Mayer of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren, Alex and Lauren Thorne of Newbury Park, CA, Trevor (Caitlin) Kodat of Chicago, IL, Courtney Kodat of Park Forrest, IL, Leah Kodat of Lynchburg, VA, Brenda (Mario) Rios of San Antonio, TX, Brian (Raven) Landstrom of Bloomington, IL, Lori (Shaun) Peart of Deerfield Beach, FL, Tricia (Andy) Alsdorf of Pontiac, IL, Tyler (Brooke) Shrewsbury of Graymont, IL, Jorjann (John) Kline of Wiesbaden, Germany, and Brandon Mayer of Cape Coral, FL; great grandchildren, Kaylie, Matthew, Steven, Hunter, Conner, Taki, Ody, Phoenix, Cecilia, Avery, Sammy, Peter, Amellia, and baby girl Peart arriving soon; and sister-in-law, Connie McKinsey of Cornell, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; great grandchildren, Lucas and Henry; and brothers, Donald McKinsey and Eldon McKinsey. Faye was a graduate of Odell High School. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved to bake. She was previously very involved in the Odell Congregational Church in Odell. She enjoyed playing games and cards with everyone and visiting with friends. In her younger years, she loved to help and volunteer in her community.
