Faye Curtin

Faye Curtin, 102 years and 9 months old, of Virden departed this life peacefully April 6, 2022 at Prairie Rose Nursing Home in Pana. She was born July 7, 1919 in rural Kincaid daughter of Sylvester and Edna (Oliver) Lush. She married the love of her life, Cornelius Curtin January 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2004.

Faye was a farm wife, helping her husband on their farms near Pawnee and later in Virden. She also worked with him for Electrolux and retired from S.S. Kresge's in Springfield as head cashier. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden and loved traveling with Cornelius and attending the dances where his band played

During her later years, Faye moved to Hickory Estates in Pana to be near her nephew Terry Lush and nieces Elaine Fry, Karen Wood and Carol Richter. She was very active until a fall in March of this year. She is also survived by 4 additional nieces and nephews and dear friends Joe, George and Jill Murphy.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marie Dickey and brothers Harold Lush, Herschel Lush and Bruce Lush.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden with Father James Palakudy officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

Memorials may be made to the choice of the donor and will be accepted by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for Faye's family.
