Eugene Rapp

Eugene Gene W. Rapp, 89 of Gridley died at 4:35 PM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Heritage Health in El Paso.

His funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at First United Church of Gridley. The Rev. Andy Huette will officiate. Burial will follow in Gridley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM prior to services Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Gridley.

Calvert - Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gene was born June 29, 1925 in Bloomington, the son of Walter E. and Anna M. Geske Rapp. He married Ruth I. Gramm on October 14, 1950 in Gridley. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, Dale (Ruth Ann) Rapp of Gridley and Paul (Gay) Rapp of Bloomington; a daughter, Cheryl Elliott of Gridley; and five grandchildren, Jessica Rapp, DJ Rapp, Matthew Rapp, George Rapp and Jessica Rapp.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Larry E. Rapp.

Gene was a member of the First United Church of Gridley and was a life long farmer in the Gridley area. He was a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau and the Gridley Community Club.

Genes two loves were farming and his family.
