Eugene C. Auth

Eugene C. "Bud" Auth, 83, of Bloomington, passed away at 7:53 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at his home.

His funeral will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Rev. Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice.

Gene was born September 27, 1935 in Bloomington, the son of Eugene and Emma L. Harris Auth. He married Norma Rhoades on April 7, 1956 in Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Diana (Charles) Jones of Normal; four sons, Ronald (Patty) Auth of Bloomington, Wesley (Veronica "June") Auth of Florida, Jeffrey (Mary) Auth of Georgia and Brian (Penny) Auth of Bloomington; 25 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and seven great great- grandchildren; a brother, Wesley "Whitey (Jan) Auth of Towanda and a sister, Kathy Irons of Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, one granddaughter and one great grandson.

Gene graduated from Bloomington High School. He worked in maintenance for the Bloomington Post Office and later for Central Catholic High School. He was a member of Historic St. Patrick's Church in Bloomington and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
