Eudora H. Dorie Diemer Obituary (1922

PONTIAC -- Eudora H. "Dorie" Diemer, 89, Pontiac, died at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 13, 2011) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, 209 W. Livingston St., Pontiac. The Rev. Lucia Oerter will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac, or McLean County Cancer Clinic, in honor of Dr. John Migas. She was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Dwight, daughter of Emil and Mattie Hansen Santacroce. She married Marion R. Diemer on Jan. 12, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo. He died May 8, 1990. Surviving are her sons, Richard E. Diemer, Pontiac, and Bill H. (Kelli) Diemer, Des Moines, Iowa; daughters, Mary C. (Steve) Bartley, Normal, and Linda D. Legner, Bloomington; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and one brother, Harold Santacroce. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac. Dorie had been employed with OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center for 32 years. Later, she spent six years with the First Christian Church in Pontiac. She was a member of Owego Club, American Legion Auxiliary, OSF St. James Auxiliary, McDowell Sunshine Club, Pontiac Elks Club and spent many years as a Livingston County election judge. She was a 1939 Dwight High School graduate.
