Emory D. "Dave" Bigger Obituary (1952

Emory D. “Dave” Bigger 72 of Rural Cornell, IL died Friday November 15, 2024 at 1:34pm at his residence. Cremation rites will be accorded and a visitation will be held on Friday November 22, 2024 from 4:00-6:00pm at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, IL. Memorials in Dave’s name may be made to the family. Dave was born on September 27, 1952 in Normal, IL a son of Russell “Rusty” and Beverly “Joan” (Armstrong) Bigger, He married Karen Rhodes on March 21, 2005 in Pontiac, IL. She survives in Cornell, IL. Also surviving are 3 children: Kari Bigger of Pontiac, IL, Brittany (Ian) Hague of Flanagan, IL and Brandon Bigger of Cornell, IL; one granddaughter: “The Apple of his Eye”-Brynlee Hague; two sisters: Nancy (Tom) Raube of Pontiac, IL and Marcia (Ken) Hays of Sandford, FL; one brother: Richard Bigger of Wenona, IL. Dave was preceded in death by his parents. Dave was educated in Pontiac schools and was employed as a welder at Interlake Steel where he eventually was a supervisor and retired after thirty eight years. He then owned and operated Daves Computer Service in Pontiac, IL. Dave was an avid CUBS and Fighting Illini fan. He enjoyed trapshooting, golf, fishing and family gatherings. His greatest joy was being called Pop-Pop. Dave loved his fur babies: Harli, Rizzo and Dixie. Every month Dave enjoyed eating at Monas with his family and peanut brittle what was made specially for him.
