Elmer Michael Ray Obituary (1944 - 2012)

Elmer Michael Ray, 67, of Herrick, IL died at 7:01 pm Sunday, June 24, 2012 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. He was born December 22, 1944 in Springfield, the son of Elmer Omer and Freda Bernice Stanton Ray. He was a coal miner for Peabody Mine #10 and was a member of the U.M.W.A. Surviving are his children: Gina Shellanbarger and husband Joseph of Herrick, Dawn Ray of Colorado Springs, CO, and Erik Ray of Taylorville. There are 4 Grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters: Phyllis Bouvet and husband Gene of Tovey and Leoda Stanley and husband Dale of Stonington. There will be no services or visitation. Mr. Ray was cremated.
