Ellen Lou Siegrist, 86, of Taylorville, IL died at 6:45 pm Friday, July 24, 2009 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.\r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born May 1, 1923 in Taylorville the daughter of Walter M. and Pauline Straughn Siegrist. She was a 1941 graduate of Taylorville High School and attended Millikin University. She worked for the War Production Board during World War II. She then worked for Mississippi Valley Structural Steel Company in Decatur for over 27 years. After retiring from MVSS she worked for the Appellate Court of Illinois Judge A.G. Webber III and when he retired she worked for the Research Department in Springfield.\r\r\n\r\r\nShe was a Certified Professional Secretary, having passed her exam in 1962 while a member of the National Secretaries Association which was later named Professional Secretaries Association. She proudly displayed "CPS 62" on her license plates thereafter. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and Decatur.\r\r\n\r\r\nEllen Lou is survived by her brothers: Max Siegrist and Monte Siegrist and wife Lucy of Taylorville and a sister, Sue Wilson of Taylorville. She has 10 Nieces and Nephews, and 15 Great Nieces and Great Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Malcolm Siegrist and a nephew John Siegrist.\r\r\n\r\r\nA celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 28 at the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Charles Sward officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville.\r\r\n\r\r\nMemorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church, 201 S.
