Elizabeth A. Worth Obituary (1933

LEXINGTON- Elizabeth A. Worth, 91, of Lexington, passed away on October 26, 2024 at ARC at Normal in Normal, IL. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11 am, at Lexington First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Pitzer officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am prior to services at the church. Inurnment will be at Lexington Township Cemetery, Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church of Lexington or to the Lexington Ambulance Service. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Elizabeth was born in Bloomington on January 29, 1933, a daughter to Henry and Edith Flesher Hallstein. She married Bernard Worth in Lexington on October 24, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2010. Surviving are her children, Dennis (Sharon) Worth, Bloomington, Richard (Bonnie) Worth, of Elmwood, TN, Lisa (Michael) Surma, of Lexington; 9 grandchildren, Daniel (Jenny) Worth and David (Emily) Worth, Christine (Chris) Haugen and Kyle Worth, Nick Surma, Bradley (Alexis) Surma, and Cody Surma, Derek and Alex Wegerbauer; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Winterland, Lexington, and a sister in law, Marge Worth, Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shirley Swartz, and a niece, Diana Gorman. Elizabeth was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington. She worked for the Lexington Township as the Town Clerk for 27 years and at the People’s Bank of Lexington for 12 years, and her and her husband were owners/operators of the Speed Wash in Lexington for 6 years in the 1970’s. Her family was her greatest joy! She made a lot of wonderful memories having fun with her kids and grandkids. She also loved knitting and cross stitching, but mostly loved baking cookies to share with anyone who would visit.
