Eleanor L. DuPont Obituary (1933

TOLUCA- Eleanor L. DuPont, 91, of Toluca, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Toluca with Franciscan Friars officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass at church. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Toluca. Memorials may be given to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, or to Eastern Marshall County EMS. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home in Toluca is in charge of arrangements. Eleanor was born in Lacon on February 20, 1933, a daughter to Joseph and Anna Marie Modro Doll. She married Eugene F. DuPont in Lacon on October 31, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her son, Frank DuPont, Toluca; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband, a daughter, Loretta DuPont-Young, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers all preceded her in death. Eleanor was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Toluca. She retired from Owen Glass factory in Streator. Eleanor enjoyed taking care of her yard - everyone would see her mowing on her rider mower. She enjoyed decorating her home; her windows were always full of decorations for every holiday and she enjoyed displaying her hundreds of yard ornaments, touching up their paint every year. It put a smile on her face when a car passing by her home would slow down to look at her yard and window decorations.
