Elaine Jones

Elaine D. Jones, 82, of Pontiac, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at 11:15 a.m. at Accolade Healthcare in Pontiac.

Cremation rites will be accorded. In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held. Elaine will be interred with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elaine was born on October 9, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Julia Sebulsky and Louis Sladewski. On August 8, 1963, she married the love of her life, William E. “Bill” Jones. They shared 55 wonderful years together until his passing on February 9, 2018.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Cathy Jones of Chicago and Louann Adair of Pontiac; her brothers, Lou Sladewski of OH, Jerry (Carol) Sladewski of FL, and Ronald (Darlene) Sladewski of OH, and her sister, Joann Blasey (Bill Miller) of OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Bill.

Elaine was educated in Cleveland and worked for many years as an executive secretary in Ohio. After relocating to Illinois, she continued her career working for a local attorney in Pontiac until her retirement.

She loved casino trips, was a whiz at video poker, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family. Elaine was known for her kind heart and will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
